Week 12 College Football: East Carolina vs. Tulsa
Standalone AAC action is on the board for Thursday, as we’ll see East Carolina and Tulsa. Even though the Pirates recently fired head coach Mike Houston, they only need one win for bowl eligibility and could very well get it here as a road favorite against Tulsa. It may not be the most exciting game, as East Carolina is a 14-point road favorite, but it is the only game of the night and college football enthusiasts are going to be interested no matter what.
East Carolina Pirates (-14, 62) at Tulsa Golden Hurricane
7:30 p.m. ETEast Carolina is humming on offense ever since getting rid of Houston, as they’ve scored 105 points over the last two games. They even had 28 points in the game against Army. As a result, this line has jumped up from -11 to -14, as nobody seems all that interested in backing Tulsa. DraftKings has even peaked at 14.5, which is something that we could see across most of the market by the time that the kickoff arrives.
The biggest change for ECU has been going to Katin Houser. He’s thrown for 894 yards over the last three games and has posted a 13/3 TD/INT ratio. The Michigan State transfer even had 52 rushing yards against FAU last week on Thursday night.
Tulsa has had some extra time to prepare for this one, as they played on November 2, but there may not be enough time to fix the defense regardless. Giving up 59 points and 537 yards on just 60 offensive plays is a really, really poor performance against any team, let alone UAB.
Except for a 39-point outburst in the second half against UTSA, Tulsa has been rather inept offensively, too. Bowl eligibility is still a goal for the Golden Hurricane, but they do have to win out and they’ll be an underdog at least this week and next, but have the chance to be favored against Florida Atlantic in the finale.
Tulsa is 127th in yards per play allowed, so it’s hard to see how they’ll be able to stop this East Carolina offense.
Pick: East Carolina -14
